Murse Daddy

We finally have worked out all of the kinks with insurance questions/problems and were able to pick up the prescription for the Lovenox injections. I went to the OB's office and they showed Tim how to inject the shot in to my stomach. It burned a little bit when it went in but it was ok--afterwards I definitely felt a little dizzy and we were able to get a little sugar in to make me feel better. We have been told that these Lovenox injections (which are blood thinners) are basically used to open up the blood flow to the baby so that he or she can get the best nutrition from me. We are so thankful that we are able to do these to help our baby out!

Confirmation

I went back to the OB today for a follow-up blood test. They said that our labs were all coming back really good and that the HCg definitely showed that I am pregnant! What a fabulous answer to our prayers! We are so thankful and continue to keep you in our prayers constantly!

OB Visit

It is kind of amazing how God works. Within the last six weeks, Mommy has stopped drinking pop because it hurts my stomach and is not good for me (which is good now with being pregnant). I also started working out during breaks and lunch at work and lost about 8 pounds which I also think helped getting pregnant. I decided recently that we were going to think about having a baby again so I scheduled an appointment with the OB to talk about what would happen if I got pregnant. The appointment was scheduled for today--what a gift it was to be able to go and talk to them right away. They took 7 vials of blood and also set up the plan of putting me on Progesterone twice a day and a baby aspirin. They also talked about giving me shots of Lovenox so that prayerfully we will have a healthy baby. We are so thankful that the OB is being proactive with this pregnancy. A really neat part too is that one of our favorite nurses who was present when Josiah was born by c-section and was around at the first hospital when we tried to induce with Virginia--is now a midwife and is working at our OB's office. We are sooo excited to have her there and look forward to seeing her often. The OB decided that it would not be best for me to return to work--we made the prayerful decision to call and let them know that I was unable to return. I'm so looking forward to sleeping all night this week!

SURPRISE!!

To our unexpected blessing, You really took us by surprise today (even though a week ago your big brother, Josiah, told Daddy that we were having a baby) but I took a pregnancy test much earlier than I needed to because I had not been feeling well. It definitely was shaded for pregnancy but very light. It is Daddy's 37th birthday today so I told him that I had a present for him that he could not open until April 3rd. He was very surprised but also very skeptical as well. I have to tell you why we call you our "unexpected blessing". We have been blessed with your healthy big brother, Josiah, but have lost 3 of your siblings to stillbirth and miscarriage. This month we were not even trying to have a baby. In fact, Mommy quit her job last week to go back to a job she worked when she was pregnant with Josiah. You are definitely unexpected but yet such a blessing too. We pray that you will be our healthy baby and we will be able to hold you in our arms. Mommy is trying really hard to remember II Corinthians 5:17--where it says we live by faith and not by sight.
I told Daddy today that the next week would be very interesting with the job changes and insurance questions but we are so excited and hope that the next 36 weeks go quickly. We will continue to pray often that you are growing perfectly inside of Mommy. We love you!!
